Who is the System Administrator?

The Captain of the Servers. Evolution of the classic system administrator, pilots the IT infrastructures of new generation datacentres, based on virtualization, software defined and with the power of cloud computing.

Professional Profile

The System Administrator operates within technologically advanced data centers, where complex physical and IT infrastructures ensure the continuous operation of servers, networks, and applications. A well-rounded professional, they possess in-depth knowledge of operating systems, networks, security, cloud computing, and virtualization technologies. They install, configure, and update hardware and software components, developing scripts and applications to automate operations and ensure the performance, security, and continuity of services provided by the data center.

Activities

The course is structured into modules designed to progressively build the skills necessary to fulfill the demands of a System Administrator in today’s businesses.

  • Server and Network Infrastructure Management: Administering server systems and network infrastructures, involving the installation, configuration, and updating of all hardware and software components. This includes defining and managing access and resource utilization policies to ensure the smooth operation and delivery of IT services from the data center.
  • Automation and Monitoring: Automating and monitoring service delivery through scripting and automation tools to guarantee business continuity, data protection, and service performance. Implementing disaster recovery procedures in response to failures or incidents.
  • Virtualized Architecture and Software-Defined Resources: Designing, installing, and managing virtualized architectures and software-defined resources to create flexible and scalable IT environments. Delivering cloud computing services and ensuring secure and efficient application migration.
  • Data Center Operations: Operating within a data center environment, monitoring systems and facilities critical to its functionality, such as energy consumption and continuity, access control, physical security and surveillance, cooling systems, and fire protection.
  • Agile Team Collaboration and DevOps Practices: Working collaboratively within teams using Agile methodologies, partnering with software development and cybersecurity teams, and applying DevOps practices to fine-tune IT services and deploy software projects within the data center.
